Use to be a great place years ago, but as previously stated, the food is blah, no taste. Everything tastes the same, or just doesn't taste good. Take a gamble if you wish, but I wouldn't go out of my way. Again, years ago it was the place to go!!!
Ate their once, and never thought to go back. When I saw it rated on the Yahoo top list I laughed. After eating the greasy Lo Mein and grizzled spare ribs, I had to plug the mud valve shortly after.
i ate here and can tell you that after eating dog food many times that most of the food on the menu here tasted very much lile dog food. With the exception of the seafood items, they taste like cat food. I did however like the fortune cookies, they were crispy and completely sealed inside of a nie peice of cellophane.
A friend had his wedding reception there years ago and I still remember how bad the food and service was. I would go so far as to say the wait staff was downright rude.
It seems most of the 5 star reviews are coming from people that visit late at night after a night of drinking which is traditional everywhere in the us, but at that point any food and a few more drinks will taste good. Either that or more and more Americans have bad taste in food which doesn't surprise me after visiting various restaurants with great reviews. Even the Phantom Gourmet seems to be bending to whatever joint pays for a good review. Most positive comments about Kowloon are probably coming from staff with their jobs on the line. Ocean Wok in Hampton has pretty good American Chinese, Taipei and Tokyo in Newingtom, NH. is a combination American Chinese and Japanese with a sushi bar. For the best Japanese/ Sushi none compare to Sakura in Portsmouth, NH. Among the sushi crowd it if ranked as one of the best in the country.
Oh and did I mention that I was limited to 2 beers at the reception?
This place has to be the most over rated chinese restaurant in the nation and shouldn't be listed as one of the top. That is a joke. Their food is cooked ahead of time and this place is only popular due location and celebrity apprearances. Don't waste your time at Kowloon where the food isn't even the best in Saugus, Ma. Out of Asia on route 1 saugus would be worth the walk from the Kowloon parking lot. Also if you want real great quality chinese try China Green in Swampscott, Ma. This place is mainly a take out place but they have amazing quality when it comes to their chinese. Chicken is all white meat and good quality where as Kowloon's chicken is tough, dark, and like rubber. Sometimes I second guess what I'm eating at Kowloon
Come on, guys! Kowloon, Chinese? It's Polynesian at best. Big, watery drinks in silly cups, greasy appetizers, blah food. Fun for high school or college kids maybe.
Im in LOVE with this place.. The food is so amazing, yummy to the fullest, very affordable, good entertainment and fast service.. Nice people. And most of all I love my Chicken Pad Thai Good Lord I eat it everyday .. Thank Kowloons keep doing a god job two tumbs up
The Kowloon on a nationwide list of best Chinese restaurants? It's not even the best Chinese restaurant in Saugus. The proprietors obviously paid for the listing. Shame on you, Yahoo. That information should be disclosed to your readers.
I Love this place, the food is good, the prices are affordable and the service is pretty quick. You can also order Thai food.....if U do order the Pad Thai...mmmmm DELICIOUS! also try the tropical Punch Juice.
Are you people for real??? I went to Kowloon a few times as a youngster & after the prom, it's disgusting!!!!! Go to downtown Boston or Arlington for some real Chinese food, I've since moved to Central New York & this place also has horrid Chinese food, can you say yellow fried rice (what's up with that?) next time I'm in Massachusetts for some real Chinese food, it will NOT be at Kowloon, it will be in Arlington at Shanghai.

Out of Asia???!!! You're crazy. That food is so overcooked. I tried eating crab rangoon and almost broke a tooth.
